A lash map is the plan for your set: which Gossamer® goes where, from the inner corner to the outer corner, and in which length. Lash Mapping™ is how Lashify clients design custom looks that flatter their eye shape and style, and once you know the rules, it takes about a minute.

How to read a lash map

A map is a row of lengths in millimeters, one for each Gossamer® segment, read from the inner corner to the outer corner. Most eyes take six Gossamers per eye (five for small eyes, seven for large), so most maps have six numbers.

How to build your own map in four steps

  1. Count your segments. Six per eye for most eyes; five for small eyes, seven for large.
  2. Pick your base length. As a guide, smaller eyes wear 10–12mm and most other eyes wear 12–14mm. Find your length.
  3. Decide where the peak goes. Your longest lengths create the lift, so place them where your eye shape wants it (see the table below).
  4. Step down at the end. Finish one step shorter at the outer corner so the eye lifts instead of dropping.
Eye shape Where to put your longest lengths
Hooded Under the arch of the brow, tapering toward the outer corner
Monolid Over the outer edge of the iris, not the outer corner
Round Toward the outer iris, tapering slightly at the end
Almond Toward the outer corner, but before the outermost lashes

Every length has a job. The map is how you tell it what to do.

Mix styles for texture

Maps aren't only about length. Mixing styles in the same map adds texture: a wispy style between two fuller ones, or a spiky style at the peak for definition. Because Lashify makes 30+ Gossamer® styles in a range of lengths and colors, the combinations are close to endless. Browse every style →

Place it like a pro

  • Lay your Gossamers out in map order before any bond goes on.
  • Start a quarter of the way in from the inner corner, work outward, and place the inner corner last.
  • Look down into your mirror and set each Gossamer® 1–2mm up from the waterline.
  • Fuse right on the spine with the Fuse™ Control Wand.
