Movie magic is more than just green screens and visual effects. The unsung hero of the movie world is often times makeup, made possible by the wonderful artists who create the looks that transport us to another world.
For 2019's film Bombshell, master makeup artist Vivian Baker transformed Oscar-nominated Charlize Theron into Megyn Kelly and took home the coveted Oscar award for Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling.
With makeup being the key to the story, Baker and her team created the eyes of each character from scratch, "we changed eye shapes completely. When you put your makeup on you have a crease, we ignored it. We paint it away If I need her eyes to be much longer, much wider. We paint it in," said Baker. "There wasn't anything in the lash arsenal we did not use," she declared. The Lashify product line and Gossamer lashes enabled the transformations Baker and her team needed in order to execute the looks for Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie, and Nicole Kidman.
